Rosslare Europort surges to 36 services a week and heads for premier Irish portal link to Europe.

On this edition of the MARITIME IRELAND RADIO SHOW – the huge changes at Rosslare Harbour, which is becoming the premier port in Ireland for shipping to Europe are discussed. The Managing Director of Europort, Glenn Carr, describes the scene and says that there will be 36 services a week from the port by next month.

There is also maritime history recounted in the month of March which, over the years, has been a difficult one for supertankers and, in particular, the Captain who countermanded his First Officer and caused the biggest maritime world oil pollution. That’s the story of the Torrey Canyon disaster.

And the programme also pays a visit to the offshore islands.
