Driven Round The Bend in the Fishing Industry by lack of Government support
There are startling revelations about the plight of fishing, coastal and rural communities in the new edition of the MARITIME IRELAND RADIO SHOW, all stemming from what is described as the disaster of the Brexit/UK deal. One of those is whether the public has been told the full truth about how the deal damaging the fishing industry was reached. The fishing industry says the government should be demanding that the European Commission insist that all fishing nations share the burden of Brexit equally. Why has Ireland been hit hardest and treated worst is a question raised by the Chairman of the new Irish Fishing & Seafood Alliance in his first major interview.
The programme also hears about the plan to build a new museum at the Old Head of Kinsale, devoted to the sinking of the liner Lusitania and about the threat to marine mammals from the big increase in underwater noise.
