Tom MacSweeney is a marine journalist who broadcasts the Maritime Radio Programme and Podcast, the MARITIME IRELAND RADIO SHOW.

He is Deputy Editor of the MARINE TIMES and a columnist with THE ECHO morning daily newspaper in Cork and with AFLOAT.ie the national maritime website.

He was previously Marine Correspondent, Southern Correspondent and a staff reporter in the RTE Newsroom, Dublin and Belfast and was also a staff reporter with THE IRISH PRESS, THE SUNDAY PRESS, THE EVENING PRESS, THE CORK EXAMINER, EVENING ECHO and THE SOUTHERN STAR. He has won several maritime and broadcast awards including Maritime Person of the Year Award Ireland; UK Maritime Awards Best Journalist of the Year and was awarded an Honorary Master of Science Degree by NUI Galway (photo with NUI Galway President, James J.Browne.)
